Ali Ihusan, the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, has alleged that Akram Kamaluddeen, the former State Minister of Housing during the MDP administration, and MDP Deputy Chairperson Ibrahim Waheed, recorded a video of his wife and child and subsequently posted it on social media.
Ihusan claimed that the two had filmed his wife and 10-year-old daughter while they walked down a street yesterday evening, sharing CCTV footage to back his allegation.
Ihusan stated that an unidentified account later shared the video on social media.
Ihusan stated that this is a disgraceful action by those who profess to be advocates of democracy, women's empowerment, and children's rights. He charged MDP with consistently participating in such disrespectful conduct and divisive political practices.
The CCTV video released by Ihusan displays Ibrahim Waheed positioned on a sidewalk, as another individual remains seated on a motorcycle beside him. After some time, Akram comes to join them. The trio talks, as Waheed pulls his phone from his pocket. Akram subsequently passes his phone, and it seems a video is being captured from it. What they are filming is not visible in the video.
An unidentified account posted the video of Ihusan's spouse and child, condemning the family and claiming that they are accompanied by security personnel when going out.
