Fenaka Corporation has finalized a new contract with Definit Solutions to finish the long-overdue Central Power Station (CPS) in Addu City, representing a significant move toward fulfilling a promise made by Mohamed Muizzu to address the city’s electricity issues.

The contract was signed by Major (Retd.) Fenaka’s Managing Director. Mohamed Najah and Abdulla Saeed, the Founder and CEO of Definit Solutions. According to the contract, the Dubai-based company will complete all outstanding tasks necessary to finish the project, which includes installing and commissioning generator sets.

The contract for the project was originally awarded to Dongfang Electric International Corporation from China. Nonetheless, the contract was subsequently canceled because of inadequate advancement in line with the defined project conditions.

In the revised structure, Mr. Saeed will act as the local agency representative and engineer overseeing the technical elements of the project, managing local agency and engineering coordination for the engine installation and the new powerhouse's development alongside Fenaka. His position will be crucial for guaranteeing the seamless installation, integration, and functioning of the new power generation systems. Mr. Saeed possesses a wealth of engineering expertise from initiatives completed in the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates.

The power facility will be outfitted with engines produced by Anglo Belgian Corporation, a well-known Belgian producer of industrial engines. In contrast to the high-speed engines presently employed in Addu, these low-speed engines meeting European standards are intended for enhanced efficiency, longevity, and dependable long-term performance.

Upon completion, the facility will boast a total power generation capacity of 26.37 megawatts, greatly enhancing the electricity supply throughout Addu City.
