US President Donald Trump stated that he is not ready to reach an agreement with Iran to resolve the escalating conflict.

Trump stated on Saturday that the conditions of any possible agreement "aren't sufficient yet" and chose not to share specifics on what a deal would entail.

"Iran is seeking to reach an agreement, but I’m not willing to do so because the conditions are not satisfactory yet," he stated in a phone interview with NBC News.

He mentioned that a pledge from Iran to give up its nuclear aspirations would probably be a crucial factor.

Trump voiced astonishment at Iran's assaults on various nations as a reaction to the unprovoked war by the US and Israel, stating that American airstrikes on Kharg Island had "completely destroyed" the majority of the island's military installations. He mentioned that "we might strike it a few more times just for enjoyment."

'Strongly sweeping strait'

In a separate post on his Truth Social account, Trump stated that "numerous nations, particularly those impacted by Iran’s efforts to close the Hormuz Strait, will dispatch warships, alongside the United States, to ensure the Strait remains open and secure."

He listed China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom as possible participants.

Trump also spoke about the Strait of Hormuz in the interview, stating it remains uncertain if Iran has set mines.

"We will be conducting a thorough sweep of the strait, and we anticipate that other nations will join us," he stated.

He didn’t affirm if the US Navy would accompany commercial ships, only mentioning that “it’s possible.”
