The Emirates Red Crescent has contributed MVR 626,795 as Fitr Zakat to the Ministry of Social and Family Development to assist children in state custody.

The Islamic Ministry announced on Sunday that a donation amounting to USD 40,780.44 has been provided to aid orphans, children with special needs, and other at-risk groups supported by the government.

The ministry stated that the money will fund Eid festivities for children under state care, encompassing Eid outfits, food packages, and Ramadan meals.

The contribution was made through the Emirates Red Crescent’s yearly Zakat program, which aids social welfare projects in collaborating countries. The Islamic Ministry stated that the donation demonstrates the strong and enduring relationship between the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates.
