A vast multi-sport facility constructed by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has been inaugurated in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

The Hulhumale’ Kulhivaru Ekuveni sports complex was officially opened by HDC’s Managing Director Brigadier General (Retired) Ali Zuhair on Friday evening, during a ceremony with participants from different sporting academies active in Hulhumale’.

The sports facility features distinct courts dedicated to the traditional Maldivian game of bashi, along with those for volleyball, basketball, handball, and netball.

HDC stated that it thinks the sports complex will alleviate the ongoing difficulties in reserving sports courts in Hulhumale’, while also encouraging fitness and social wellbeing for residents of Hulhumale’.

The company stated that it is also focused on creating additional sports centers and outdoor fitness areas in Hulhumale’.
