President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced that Aasandha coverage now includes ambulance services in specific non-emergency cases.

President Muizzu informed journalists on Monday that the modifications will commence in April.

He stated that from April onwards, the national health insurance program will include ambulance transfers to hospitals for emergency cases, deceased individuals, bedridden patients, wheelchair users going for OPD services, thalassemia patients, and those with multiple disabilities.

President Muizzu stated that his administration implemented the changes after thorough technical discussions and after examining the budget and conducting essential calculations.

"This is a common request we receive from residents." "This is an issue that has caused inconvenience to the people for a long time, and they have been wishing for a solution," he stated.

President Muizzu expressed his belief that the shift will benefit the people.

Aasandha presently offers coverage for ambulance services for emergency patients and those in critical condition.
