In Male’ City, a counter-narcotics operation has led to the arrest of six individuals with a significant amount of drugs.

A statement issued by police on Saturday indicated that the combined operation involving Counter-Narcotics Intelligence and Drug Enforcement took place on Wednesday.

The individuals taken into custody in the matter were recognized as:

Ahil Ali, 23, G. Kandhumaage Aage, K. Male’

Ali Eshad, 32, Sosan, S. Hulhudhoo

Mohamed Mahir, 36, Honey Period, Dh. Meedhoo

Rikz Adam, 23, Five Rose, GDh. Thinadhoo

Mohamed Suhan Ahmed, 39, Dhunthari, Lh. Hinnavaru

Abdul Majid Ibrahim, 38, Matharesmaage, Mukurimagu, L. Gan

Authorities reported that they conducted a raid on two locations in Male’ and confiscated a significant amount of drugs during the operation.

The suspects were brought to Criminal Court for their detention hearing on Thursday. Police reported that Eshad, Mahir, Abdul Majid, and Suhan were placed in police custody for 15 days, whereas Ahil was held for 12 days, and Rikz for five days.

The police are conducting additional inquiries into the case.
