A deceased 18-year-old girl was discovered early Tuesday at the Majudhudheen Dhanaal, the hostel of Maldives National University (MNU) in Male’.

Authorities, including the police and Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), were observed active at the hostel at approximately 02:30 am.

Authorities identified the victim as an 18-year-old female student but chose not to reveal any further information.

Authorities stated that they were looking into the death.

MNU’s Majudhudheen Dhanaal accommodates numerous students, with many hailing from islands beyond the capital.
