Dr. Mohamed Faizal, Secretary General of the National Pay Commission, has tendered his resignation from the post.
The Pay Commission serves as the principal authority responsible for formulating policies concerning the salaries and benefits of government employees.
While the Finance Ministry has confirmed Faizal’s resignation, it has not officially disclosed the specific reason for his departure.
However, Sun has learned that Faizal stepped down at the request from the government.
Faizal has a distinguished academic background, having earned a PhD in Public Policy from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
Prior to his appointment as Secretary General of the Pay Commission, Faizal held several senior government positions, including Secretary General of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and Director of Performance Management at the President’s Office.
Faizal kicked off his career in the civil service in 1996 as a Research Officer Trainee at the President’s Office.
Following his resignation, the government has yet to announce any changes to the administrative management of the Pay Commission.
