Maldivian, the national airline, has rejected social media rumors suggesting it intends to offer alcohol service on its flights, calling the claims completely untrue.
The speculation indicated that the airline was getting ready to offer and sell alcohol in relation to its imminent flight services to Australia, which are set to begin this May.
The social media posts additionally stated that new cabin crew members were told that serving alcohol would be a necessary obligation.
It was also claimed that employees who refused could choose to opt out but would forfeit the chance to work on international routes.
In reaction, Maldivian dismissed the allegations, encouraging the public to refrain from disseminating unconfirmed and deceptive information.
The airline highlighted that the ongoing rumors lack factual support.
