Former Home Minister Umar Naseer stated that the incarceration of journalists signifies the onset of a regime's decline.
In a post on his X account, Umar noted that leaders responsible for the people's welfare must recognize that allegations aimed at them will consistently resonate more strongly and be more intense than those against common individuals. He stated that accusations against leaders are evaluated differently than those made against the general public.
“Leaders do not demonstrate their innocence of an unsavory act in a courtroom.” A leader’s integrity is demonstrated in the Court of Public Opinion, within the perception of the general populace. It needs to be weighed. Umar Naseer stated that simply declaring, ‘it’s a lie’ is insufficient when an accusation is presented.
In this situation, two journalists were imprisoned Tuesday for purportedly breaching an order from the Criminal Court related to the current accusations against the leaders of Adhadhu.
The court imposed a 15-day sentence on Shahuzan for challenging the President regarding the Aisha documentary made by Adhadhu during a press conference at the President’s Office on Monday, while Leevan received a 10-day sentence for covering the story on Tuesday.
