President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has shown optimism that the relationship between Maldives and Azerbaijan will thrive in the future.
The President offered congratulations to Azerbaijani President Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev and Prime Minister Ali Hidayat oglu Asadov in celebration of Azerbaijan's Independence Day.
In his communication to President Ilham Aliyev, President Muizzu emphasized that the Maldives and Azerbaijan are nearing the 20th anniversary of their diplomatic ties. He conveyed optimism that the enduring bilateral relationship, based on mutual respect, trust, and collaboration, would thrive in the forthcoming years.
In his communication to Prime Minister Asadov, the President emphasized the robust and enduring ties between Azerbaijan and the Maldives, marked by a common dedication to mutual comprehension and joint initiatives to improve cooperation. He conveyed assurance that the collaboration would keep growing in sectors of shared interest for the advantage of both nations.
President Muizzu also expressed his personal wishes for the good health and welfare of both leaders, along with hopes for ongoing peace, progress, and prosperity for the people of Azerbaijan.
The President echoed these feelings on his official X account, highlighting that Azerbaijan has achieved substantial progress since attaining independence and has developed in accordance with the hopes of its citizens.
Azerbaijan celebrates its Independence Day every year on 28 May, honoring the proclamation of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918.
