Two officers from the Maldives Police Service have finished an Interpol training course designed to enhance the nation's ability to tackle cybercrime, fraud, and extortion.
Authorities stated that the officers participated in the eighth Digital Security Challenge, referred to as the Cyber Games, which took place in Marrakech, Morocco, from May 19 to 21. The initiative unites law enforcement agencies globally to enhance practical abilities required to combat online crimes.
Police stated that the training concentrated on synchronized efforts against scam networks, intelligence utilization, and the correct management of digital evidence. Officers were also trained on how to interview suspects and utilize international legal instruments to aid cross-border criminal investigations.
Authorities stated that engaging in worldwide initiatives like the Interpol Cyber Games boosts the technical skills of Maldivian officers and improves collaboration with international specialists. They noted that this experience will enhance the nation's capability to investigate cybercrime and fraud cases.
