On Monday, Aasandha announced that talks are in progress to broaden its network of healthcare providers by incorporating 15 additional hospitals in nearby Sri Lanka.

In a conversation with Sun, an Aasandha official mentioned that the company frequently gets inquiries from international healthcare organizations wanting to be part of the scheme, noting that talks commence whenever these proposals are presented to aid in delivering services.

The official stated that Aasandha has currently gotten applications from 15 more hospitals requesting Aasandha services at these locations.

The official mentioned that the institutions are currently in a thorough assessment phase. Final authorization will be provided solely if the hospitals meet the necessary eligibility standards.

The official mentioned that a lengthy part of the process involves negotiating pricing structures for medical services with the hospitals.

"Hospitals from both India and Sri Lanka often reach out to us." "[The process of incorporating new providers or stopping services] is ongoing," the official stated.

Sri Lanka continues to be an important location where Maldivians living overseas can obtain healthcare services via the 'Meranaa' initiative. Currently, Aasandha coverage can be accessed at six leading hospitals across the nation: Asiri Surgical Hospital, Asiri Medical Hospital, Asiri Central Hospital, Durdans Hospital, Nawaloka Hospital Negombo, and Nawaloka Hospital Colombo.
