The Maldives Police’s Anti‑Scam Centre has issued a warning to the public about scam messages circulating in the name of Booking.com, claiming to offer refunds.

The Centre reported that these new scam messages are being sent using the Booking.com brand. The messages contain phishing links aimed at stealing users’ credit card information by pretending to process a refund.

According to police, the scam messages state that a refund is available and instruct recipients to submit their card details within 24 hours to receive the funds.

Authorities have advised people not to click on any links in these messages or share OTP codes or card details with anyone. They also recommend verifying such claims only through official apps or websites.

The police urged the public to share this warning to help protect others from falling victim to the scam.
