Bangkok Airways, offering direct flights from Thailand to the Maldives, has halted its services for the year.

The announcement was made by Inner Maldives President Mohamed Firaq.

In a post on X, Firaq announced that Bangkok Airways had halted operations to the Maldives. He characterized the airline as a key collaborator, emphasizing that it delivers over 2,000 visitors to the nation every month.

He mentioned that the expectation is for flights to start again by next summer.

Firaq also told Sun that Bangkok Airways will not be flying to the Maldives this year.

Nonetheless, he thinks the circumstances might improve with more vigorous marketing activities.

“For instance, if you prepare for days when costs are not included in a discount program, you can maintain it.” “However, you are experiencing significant losses,” he stated.

Bangkok Airways has not made an official statement about the suspension yet.

In May, Air India halted flights from New Delhi to Male' until August.
