New Philippine Ambassador formally accredited in Maldives

The recently designated Non-Resident Ambassador of the Philippines to the Maldives, Nina P. Cainglet, officially submitted her Letter of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu in a ceremony at the President’s Office.


The ambassador was led to the ceremony in a customary Haiykolhu cultural procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force Drum and Trumpet Band, following diplomatic protocol.


President Dr Muizzu received the credentials and formally welcomed Ambassador Cainglet, signifying the start of her role as the Philippines' envoy to the Maldives.


After the accreditation ceremony, the President and the ambassador engaged in talks regarding shared interests and ways to enhance collaboration between the two nations.


In the meeting, Ambassador Cainglet expressed gratitude for the hospitality and assistance provided to Filipino citizens residing and working in the Maldives.


Both parties also reiterated their dedication to strengthening bilateral ties and broadening collaboration in areas of mutual interest.


The talks highlighted the enduring friendship between the Maldives and the Philippines, as both nations showed a commitment to enhancing diplomatic relations and connections among their citizens.


Diplomatic ties between the Maldives and the Philippines were formed on 12 July 1974, and both countries have consistently upheld friendly relations through collaboration and frequent diplomatic interactions.



The delivery of credentials signifies another advancement in enhancing the relationship between the Maldives and the Philippines as both nations aim to broaden cooperation and strengthen their enduring connections.
