Male' City Councillor for North Hulhumale' Fathimath Zahiyya (Zaya) states that the absence of adequate bus stops in the vicinity of the 4,000 Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) flats has emerged as a significant issue for local residents.
Zaya and Mayor Adam Azim met with the Fahi Union last week.
The council stated that Zaya mentioned in the meeting that not having a specific bus stop close to the Fahi flats is causing daily challenges for the local residents.
She highlighted that the inadequate bus service poses significant difficulties for students and commuters, who face lengthy walks and unreliable public transportation options.
Mayor Azim stated he would confer with the appropriate authorities to swiftly resolve the matter.
MTCC operates bus services in Male' and various atolls. Although there are bus stops in the Hiyaa flat area, similar facilities have not been set up near the Fahi flats.
MTCC was unavailable for comment.
