A serious situation has arisen with three employees of a school in Malé, who reportedly embezzled MVR 1.5 million over five years by taking the salary of a former staff member.
Sun has discovered that the three individuals supposedly continued to receive salary payments using the name of an employee who had previously resigned from the school. The deceptive operation is thought to have persisted for five years, starting in 2021.
Mohamed Nasih of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) stated that this incident is currently being investigated. He also mentioned that the Commission has opted to dismiss the three individuals connected to the case.
Simultaneously, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has verified that an official inquiry into the issue is now underway.
It has been confirmed that three school staff members are linked to the purported financial misconduct, but additional information about the case has not been revealed yet.
