The Maldives Customs Service has confiscated a significant number of vape cartridges hidden within a shipment of Mr. Potato brand potato chips imported by sea into the Maldives.

According to Customs, the seizure occurred during a special operation at the Male' Commercial Harbour on June 14 and 15.

During the inspection, officers discovered 1,108 vape cartridges concealed inside cans of potato chips and packets of chocolate powder. Additionally, 27 vape devices were also recovered, Customs reported.

The confiscated items have been taken into custody, and Customs is now conducting further investigations into the illegal smuggling attempt.

Customs emphasized that it continues to carry out robust operations to prevent the entry of prohibited and illegal goods into the Maldives.
