Authorities indicate that the inquiry is still active concerning the death of a young officer during a maritime operation the previous week.
Sub-Inspector of Police Ahmed Asif was a member of the team engaged in a maritime operation during the early hours of June 11. He vanished from the ‘Police Launch 57’ and was subsequently discovered deceased beneath the water.
A police representative informed Sun on Wednesday that the inquiry into the 33-year-old officer's death was still active.
The police have not released any details about the operation he participated in, nor about the situation surrounding his disappearance.
Nevertheless, Sun has discovered that he was involved in a drug enforcement mission at the time of his vanishing.
Asif was posthumously elevated from Senior Sergeant to Sub-Inspector of Police, honoring his loyalty and commitment.
