In observance of the Year of Mental Health, The Happiness Club hosted its inaugural significant event, “Varah Loabivey,” which translates to love you very much, on Saturday.

As stated by the club, the all-day program, taking place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., focused on mental well-being, social bonds, and kindness. Its purpose was to increase awareness regarding the significance of psychological safety at home, in educational institutions, in workplaces, and throughout the larger community.

The club stated that the phrase “Love you very much” was selected as it embodies the profound cultural language of affection, reliability, and emotional warmth among Maldivians. They observed that fostering psychologically safe spaces, where individuals can openly express themselves and flourish, is crucial for both personal and communal wellbeing.

During the sessions, attendees examined methods for listening without judgment, created emotionally secure environments, and took part in hands-on activities focused on encouraging communication.

The event wrapped up with the “Official Varah Loabivey Declaration,” where attendees committed to serving as a sanctuary for others, fostering compassionate and mindful listening, and encouraging kindness in their everyday encounters.

The Happiness Club stated it seeks to make mental health a top priority nationwide and will keep striving to ensure that every person in the Maldives feels valued, listened to, and accepted.
