The intersection of Chaandhanee Magu and Boduthakurufaanu Magu has been temporarily changed to a two-way road.
The alteration occurs because the shutting down of Boduthakurufaanu Magu, stretching from Henveiru Ferry Terminal to the Official Jetty, has earlier led to congestion and difficulties for the public amid ongoing construction activities.
A representative from Male' City Council informed Sun that the change was implemented at the Traffic Police's request to improve traffic movement and diminish congestion in the vicinity.
Under the new setup, cars can now leave both Orchid Magu and Chaandhanee Magu onto Boduthakurufaanu Magu.
The temporary alteration will stay in effect until the outer-ring road is finished and the presently closed segment is reopened.
Efforts to upgrade the section of road from Henveiru Ferry Terminal to the Official Jetty commenced on March 23 of last year. MTCC, the project's contractor, announced that the road will be accessible again prior to July 26.
