Indian High Commission donates laptops to six PNC constituencies in support of Maldives’ digital transformation vision

The Indian High Commission has donated laptops to six Members of Parliament representing the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC).


 


The official handover took place at a ceremony at the Parliament offices on Tuesday, with senior officials from the People’s Majlis and the Indian High Commission in attendance.


 


The laptops were given to representatives from the following constituencies:


 


- Fonadhoo MP Abdul Raheem Abdulla, Speaker of the People’s Majlis  


- Manadhoo MP Husnee Mubarik  


- Kendhikulhudhoo MP Mohamed Afoo Hamid  


- Kurendhoo MP Mohamed Shamin Habeeb  


- Huraa MP Dr. Anara Naeem  


- Nilandhoo MP Fathimath Saudha  


 


The donation was presented by Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives, Munu Mahawar, and accepted on behalf of the Parliament by Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla.


 


According to the Indian High Commission, this donation is part of India’s longstanding capacity-building cooperation with the Maldives and supports the government’s “Maldives 2.0 Digital Transformation” vision. The initiative aims to empower local constituencies with technology and promote sectoral development.


 


The High Commission described this gesture as a further step toward fostering a “shared future” between India and the Maldives under India’s Neighbourhood First policy.
