A statement from a minor has been presented as evidence to prove the guilt of the defendant in the murder of 65‑year‑old Abdul Rahman Adam.

Abdul Rahman, 65, Orchidmaage, AA. Maalhos was hastily taken to the island health centre at approximately 1:50am on July 13 after being discovered bleeding in his room. Authorities reported that he sustained “severe injuries” while resting in his residence and passed away a few hours later at the medical facility. A postmortem revealed he passed away due to head trauma.

On August 21, three young men from Maalhos were apprehended in relation to the case. They consist of:

Mohamed Wisam, age 23, Lillyfehi, AA. Maalhos

Ahmed Faris, 28, Finivaage, AA. Maalhos

Ahmed Ashid, 28, Fiya, AA. Maalhos

Ashid faces charges of deliberate homicide involving a lethal weapon. Wisam and Faris are accused of taking part in the killing of an individual with a lethal weapon. A session took place on Sunday.

During the hearing on Sunday, the prosecution requested a ruling to safeguard evidence. The request aimed to secure confidentiality for the minor's testimony presented as evidence, a report with details about the minor, and images illustrating Abdul Rahman’s injuries.

On Sunday, the prosecution presented DNA reports related to the case. The defence has received the reports.

The trial judge has set the hearing date for the filing of charges and the defendants’ responses for the 12th of next month.
