On Tuesday, the Maldives and Saudi Arabia held talks to improve their defense collaboration.
Discussions took place during Defense Minister Hassan Rasheed's ongoing visit to Saudi Arabia, prompted by an invitation from Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
During the visit, the Minister talked about enhancing bilateral relations even more.
During the meeting, the two ministers assessed bilateral relations and discussed methods to improve collaboration in the defense area. They also examined regional and global developments, as well as initiatives to uphold security and stability in the area.
While visiting, the Minister met with Major General Abdullah bin Hamid al-Quraishi, who is the Deputy Military Commander of Saudi Arabia's Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC).
During that meeting, both parties talked about methods to bolster collaboration in counter-terrorism, broaden initiatives for joint drills, and improve bilateral technical skills.
