Police have rescued a tourist who strayed while snorkelling at a resort in the Kaafu atoll yesterday afternoon.

Police “Launch 54” was on an official journey from Male' to Dh. Vaanee noticed a man drifting in the ocean at approximately 14:26 pm.

He was recognized as a Chinese tourist vacationing at a resort in Kaafu atoll.

Authorities stated that he had been carried almost a mile away from the hotel.

When the police boat spotted the tourist, officers swiftly rescued him from the water and administered first aid. The police team subsequently brought him back to the resort safely.

Authorities stated that the traveler was in good condition when he was brought back to the resort.
