Starting Wednesday, pharmacies previously managed by the State Trading Organization (STO) began operating under the control of State Pharma, following the transfer of their management to the government-owned pharmaceutical company.
State Pharma confirmed that the transfer took effect on Wednesday, and that the pharmacies are now delivering services under its supervision.
The company stated that this move aims to enhance access to pharmaceutical services throughout the Maldives and to improve the quality of service delivery.
According to State Pharma, there may be some minor operational disruptions during the early stages of the transition.
Their customer support hotline, 1505, remains available 24/7 to assist customers.
The goal is to provide pharmaceutical services to communities nationwide.
State Pharma was established by the government in September last year in response to public concerns over medicine shortages for various health conditions. The company was created to oversee the importation and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
