Mohamed Firzul Abdullah Khaleel was appointed as the Managing Director of Maldives Hajj Corporation on Wednesday.

Firzul takes over from Mohamed Shakeel, who stepped down from the position after being appointed as a member of the Elections Commission.

Prior to his new role, Firzul served as Undersecretary for Public Policy at the President's Office.

He is also the spokesperson for the ruling People's National Congress (PNC).

During the transition to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration, Firzul acted as the official spokesperson for the President’s transition team.

This appointment comes as part of leadership changes at Maldives Hajj Corporation following Shakeel’s move to the Elections Commission.
