Nominations open for the President’s Special Award for Outstanding Achievement

Nominations for the Presidential Special Award for Exceptional Achievement began on Sunday.


The chance to put forward nominations for the Presidential Special Award for Outstanding Service will stay available until August.


Special accolades will be given in four categories.


The initial category acknowledges people who have attained remarkable success in higher education or vocational training. This encompasses outstanding accomplishment in a National Qualifications Framework Level 10 qualification or earning the top academic award from an institution providing a NQF Level 7, 8, or 9 program.


The remaining award categories include:


Achieved the top position or distinction in an international event or contest representing the Maldives.


Have accomplished significant success through the creation of an innovative invention or product, or by performing scientific research targeted at addressing a critical national issue.


Capable and gifted youth between 18 and 35 who have reached significant success via effective and creative efforts aiding national progress.


Applicants must ensure that all needed documents are filled out and submitted alongside the form when submitting nominations, as recommended by the Special Awards Committee.



The unique awards event is scheduled for Republic Day, November 11, 2026.
