The Male' City Council has chosen to provide complimentary locations for wedding receptions to newly married couples.

The choice was reached at the Council's formal meeting on Wednesday, where participants consented to establish the criteria and regulations for delivering the service. The opportunity will be available once the guidelines are completed and made public.

The Council decided to provide halls or public squares at no cost for newlyweds, a decision that will decrease the agency's income, which presently generates substantial revenue from renting spaces for these occasions.

Lonuziyaarai Park, a favored wedding location in Male' City, is managed by the Council and is recognized for its expensive rental costs.

Numerous weddings occur in Male' City each month, and many households find it challenging to cover the expenses of organizing a reception.

The Council’s choice is anticipated to offer significant financial support to young couples beginning their journey together.

This effort also meets an important campaign promise made to young people by Mayor Adam Azim and various councillors.

In a different context, the administration is focusing on multiple areas to boost the nation's population, which is crucial for progress.
