Visit Maldives has launched Visit Maldives Week in Australia, a three-city roadshow designed to strengthen the Maldives’ presence in one of its fastest-growing long-haul tourism markets.

The roadshow began in Perth on Tuesday and will continue in Melbourne on July 22 and Sydney on July 23, bringing together Maldivian tourism stakeholders, travel trade professionals, media representatives, influencers, and industry partners to promote the destination and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

The initiative follows the launch of Maldivian’s direct flights between Malé and Melbourne in May 2026, which has enhanced connectivity between the two countries and created new opportunities to increase visitor arrivals from Australia.

Australia recorded strong growth as a source market for the Maldives, with 20,126 Australian visitors arriving between January and May 2026, representing a 14.1 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025. The market ranked as the Maldives’ 10th largest source market during the period.

The roadshow features 11 Maldivian tourism companies showcasing resorts, travel services, and unique holiday experiences. The programme includes destination presentations, business meetings, networking sessions, promotional activities, and engagement opportunities with Australian travel partners.

Visit Maldives said the initiative forms part of its wider strategy to strengthen market presence through targeted destination marketing, trade engagement, and partnerships, supporting continued growth from Australia.
