According to the most recent Maldives Visitor Survey published by the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, India was the primary origin of business travelers to the Maldives last year.

The survey revealed that 55 percent of travelers from India visited the Maldives for business reasons, which is the largest share among all originating markets.

The United States placed second, with business travelers making up 49 percent of arrivals, whereas Germany and Spain tied for third with 41 percent each.

The results further indicated that professionals and business owners remain prevalent in the Maldives' visitor demographics.

Last year, private business owners and professionals represented 32 percent of total arrivals, whereas business owners and managers constituted an additional 26 percent.

Collectively, these groups accounted for 58 percent of all global travelers.

Technical workers and technicians represented 8 percent of tourists, whereas service and sales employees, administrative personnel, and retirees each made up 6 percent of those surveyed.

The Tourism Ministry states that the statistics highlight the Maldives' significant attraction for professionals, executives, and affluent tourists, along with its status as a leading leisure location.

Tourism data indicates that the Maldives received 1,180,195 tourists up to this point in the year.

Out of this number, 9,638 visited the country for business-related reasons, underscoring the ongoing significance of corporate and professional travel to the tourism industry.
