Police impound three motorcycles for a month due to reckless speeding on Sinamale' Bridge

Three motorcyclists have been fined for exceeding the speed limit and operating their vehicles in a way that alarmed and jeopardized public safety.


A video shared on social media depicts four motorcycles speeding on the Sinamale' Bridge highway, with three riders lying down on their bikes as they race.


Authorities announced on Saturday that three of the motorcycles will be held in custody for 30 days. The police did not clarify if the riders received any fines.


Hazardous speeding has resulted in severe accidents previously, including deaths, with the majority involving youths.



As per police data, traffic collisions rank as the second-most reported type of incidents this year, following theft. So far, there have been 1,751 reported cases of traffic accidents.
