The People’s Majlis is set to convene on Tuesday following almost two weeks of no sessions.

The final session of the 20th Parliament took place on the 15th of this month. Since that time, there have also been no committee meetings.

Per parliamentary rules, the second session's meetings are to take place from June through August 15. Yet, similar to earlier sessions, it seems this session will also be prolonged.

Lawmakers are still enduring public backlash for committee sessions that wrap up in just five or ten minutes, last-minute cancellations of meetings, inconsistent schedules, and the way they discuss proposed legislation.

Members of Parliament are paid substantial salaries and enjoy significant benefits supported by the state budget, but there are ongoing grievances that they do not fulfill their duties appropriately.

The public continues to worry about the inconsistency of sessions and the absence of advancement in both the last and present terms.
