A man sustained injuries when a tile dropped from a building and struck his head in Male’ city on Wednesday morning.

The event took place at 6:42 am on Boduthakurufaanu Magu in Maafannu, Male’ City. Authorities reported that the wounded individual is a Bangladeshi male who is currently being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Alongside the tile, a glass window had also shattered from the building during the event.

Authorities have not disclosed any details about the man's status. The media team at IGMH was reached out for information, but no details have been shared as of now.

Authorities stated they are investigating the occurrence.

Previous incidents of hazardous items on the balconies of high-rise buildings in Male’ city have occurred. The Male’ City Council has consistently advised residents to avoid placing items on balconies that might drop onto the streets below.
