A man has been detained for purchasing stolen high-value items such as speakers and power tools at unusually low prices. Police stated that the arrest occurred on Wednesday during an operation by Addu City Police aimed at targeting individuals who buy stolen goods at low prices. Abdulla Umar, a 58-year-old, was taken into custody in connection with the case.
Police recovered 65 items believed to have been purchased at discounted prices from the suspect’s residence. The stolen items were taken from various homes throughout Addu City.
The recovered belongings include power tools, cartridges, speakers, lights, and other equipment. Some of these items have already been returned to their rightful owners, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing.
Authorities have urged the public not to buy items that appear suspiciously cheap and to report any incidents involving stolen goods.
