Aminath Noya Sameeh has been chosen to represent the Maldives in the second phase of Mission ShakthiSAT, an international initiative aimed at familiarizing girls with satellite development, taking place in Delhi this month.
Women in Management (WIM) announced the selection, stating that the Maldives is excited to join this worldwide initiative focused on introducing girls to satellite manufacturing and space science.
Mission ShakthiSAT, launched by Space Kids India, is among the largest and most promising global space events tailored for girls. The initiative unites 12,000 girls from 108 nations, establishing it as the biggest girls’ space mission globally. Participants will create, construct, and deploy a satellite aimed at lunar orbit as part of the project. The primary goal is to motivate young girls to explore areas like science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
WIM reports that Noya is highly interested in science and computer technology. The organization stated that her goal is to follow a career in computer science and make contributions to new innovations that can create positive changes in society.
Noya is also enthusiastic about public speaking. She has organized online awareness initiatives and given presentations on cyberbullying and internet safety.
Regarding her selection, Noya mentioned that the program is “a fantastic chance to broaden my aspirations, connect with youth globally, and gain new knowledge.” She mentioned that the key lesson she has learned from this experience is to develop self-assurance and maintain lofty expectations.
Women in Management expressed pride in having Noya represent the Maldivian flag on such a global stage. The organization conveyed optimism that her success will motivate many more girls in the Maldives to chase their dreams with assurance.
