A significant stride in Maldives Airport Company Limited’s (MACL) long-term strategy in building a stronger, more skilled aviation force has been taken place, by the Aviation Institude of Maldives (AIM) being officially inaugurated.
CEO & managing director, Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed has stated that AIM will play a vital role in developing qualified professionals across key areas of airport operations. He delivered the statement, explicitly highlighting the future progress depends on the continuous enhancement of employee knowledge, alongside their technical knowledge as well as their professional competence, whilst speaking at a ceremony on 12th august of 2026, at Hulhule Island Hotel.
Moreover, Shareef has additionally noted that whilst continuing their careers at MACL, AIM intends to provide structured pathways for staff inorder for them to obtain recognised qualifications, which allows the employees to advance through their training programmes aligned with operational needs.
At this event, Shareef congratulated graduates as AIM celebrated the graduation of their first cohort, with 29 participants completing the Certificate Level 3 in Airport Security Management, whilst encouraging all MACL employees to fully utilise the training and development opportunities now being provided through AIM.
As AIM deepens their commitment to workforce development and strengthening the talent pipeline for the Maldives Aviation Sector, the establishment marks a pivotal milestone for MACL.
