There was a power outage in multiple areas of Hulhumale’ Phase 1 on August 22nd.

The State Electric Company (STELCO) has sincerely apologized to the public for the inconvenience via social media, and has assured they are working to restore the lost electricity at the earliest possible opportunity. 

Hulhumale’ has experienced several cases of power outages, mostly in areas where the population is highly congested, therefore due to the rapid and ever increasing development, the distribution network has been under severe pressure.

Moreover, the current power outage occurred in the vicinity around Hulhumale’ Hospital, as well as the Reethigus Residence zone in Phase 1, and although STELCO has no issued the reason for the outage, they often release the cause after the issue at hand has been fixed, amidst the complaints as well as concerns residents often express due to the disruptions in both Phase 1 and 2.
