Boat captain had his license seized after hit-and-run at Hulhumale’ Bay

Authorities have confiscated the license of a boat captain involved in a dangerous collision between a speedboat, and another vessel, in which the speedboat fled the scene immediately without acknowledgement.


According to reports, five people were left injured and are currently being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), alongside damage done to the speedboat Legion 1, specifically to the seating area of the boat.


The incident occurred outside Izzudheen Jetty, on the 9th of July, however, the boat was later found stranded on the 22nd of August, in Hulhumale’ Bay according to authorities.


As of now, the available information on the case as it is ongoing, is that the captain of the boat was questioned regarding the hit-and-run and had his license confiscated as part of the investigation.
