It was reported by Maldives Police Service that a woman was found weakened at a residence in Dilkhushaa Goalhi, in Maafannu district, at approximately 10:34am on the morning of 27th August.

Currently the case is ongoing, however there has been confirmation one of the two of the people taken to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment have unfortunately passed away, who was identified as Zahida Thaufeeq, aged 51.

In addition, a 19 year old female is at ADK to get medical treatment in relation to the gas leak.

No further information has been reported due to the case still being ongoing.
