On Saturday, three new specialized health services, including neurology, were launched at Hulhumale' Hospital.

Health Minister Geela Ali inaugurated the services during a ceremony conducted at the hospital.

The recently launched services encompass gastroenterology (care for stomach and intestinal ailments), neurology (care for nervous system conditions), and urology (care for urinary tract issues).

The Health Ministry stated that the launch of these services will facilitate public access to specialized care. It also observed the increasing count of Maldivian doctors pursuing professions that locals had not engaged in before.

CEO Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem of Male' City Group of Hospitals stated previously that this year, 16 doctors have joined Dharumavantha Hospital and IGMH after finishing their specialist training. He mentioned that they consist of specialists and sub-specialists educated in areas that are completely new to the nation.

This year’s new doctors include experts in pediatric dentistry and neuro-interventional radiology.

Moreover, IGMH has just chosen to implement robotic surgery, which the hospital claims will aid in lowering the expense of significant procedures that patients typically pursue overseas.
