Dhiraagu has collaborated with the SEED Initiative to enhance ocean literacy and raise awareness of marine ecosystems among youth and children in the Maldives.

The SEED Initiative, representing Science, Explore, Act, and Discover, emphasizes environmental education and offers hands-on learning experiences via field-based activities.

Dhiraagu states that the organization is engaged in marine conservation efforts, such as citizen science and gathering environmental data, raising public awareness, and initiatives to ensure the protection and enduring sustainability of natural ecosystems.

Through the partnership, Dhiraagu will offer connectivity assistance for the SEED Initiative's Urban Hub in Hulhumalé and aid with operations carried out across various islands.

The partnership also seeks to promote increased community awareness of marine conservation and environmental safeguarding.

The collaboration will assist the SEED Initiative’s Eco Guardian program, which will offer educational sessions and practical marine activities in Hulhumalé, K. Kaashidhoo, and B. Goidhoo.

Participants will have the chance to learn about marine ecosystems and the significance of safeguarding vital natural environments, with activities led by marine biologists and other experts.

The program will also address subjects such as seagrass meadows, mangrove systems, sustainable environmental practices, and restoring ecosystems.

Dhiraagu expressed that enhancing awareness of the marine environment is especially vital for the Maldives, where the ocean is integral to the nation’s economy, communities, livelihoods, and future prospects.

The initiative seeks to enhance younger generations' understanding of and connection to the marine environment by merging environmental education with hands-on experiences.

The collaboration is a component of Dhiraagu's larger initiatives to promote environmental conservation and motivate communities to engage in safeguarding the Maldives' natural environment.
