Ahmed Manik (Jaadhoo Ahmed Manik), who dedicated over 46 years of service to the Maldivian state, died on Sunday.

He passed away at the age of 88.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed his sympathy to the family, asking Allah to bestow Ahmed Manik with everlasting blessings in Paradise.

Ahmed Manik dedicated more than 46 years to serving the state. Between February 1, 1957, and May 1, 2008, he was employed in multiple roles, such as a peon, guard, curator, and eventually as a military officer.

In 2023, he received the State Service Award for his years of committed service.

The funeral will take place after Isha prayers on Sunday night at the Aasaharaa Miskiy in Male' City.
