The Drug Enforcement Department is trying to locate a man ordered to appear for an open investigation. 

According to authorities, the summons went undelivered due to his unknown location, prompting an official public notice requiring him to appear for the investigation pursuant to Article 27 of the Criminal Investigation Procedure Rules. 

Ali Shafiu, 39, of Shihama Manzil of Th. Madifushi had been ordered to report to the Sergeant Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building on the 30th of September at 2:00pm

Several factors drive the growth of drug-related problems, such as challenges in patrolling the nation's expansive ocean borders, a lack of job and leisure options for young people, the exploitation of minors by organized gangs, and insufficient treatment and rehabilitation facilities. 

Consequently, crimes such as robbery and theft have seen a surge. In response, the Drug Enforcement Command of the Maldives Police Service remains actively engaged in curbing drug trafficking, dismantling organized networks, building public awareness, and aiding recovery programs, emphasizing that success depends on community involvement.
