President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed condolences to the family of Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, spouse of former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

In his message, the President highlighted that she was one of Malaysia's pioneering female doctors and played a vital role in maternal health and the advancement of women in rural areas.

He stated that her lifelong commitment would be honored with appreciation and esteem, particularly for her efforts to promote gender equality and enhance family wellbeing through a range of national programs.

The President offered condolences on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives to the former Prime Minister and his family, praying for strength and patience for all who are mourning her loss.

He also supplicated to Almighty Allah to accept her virtuous actions and bestow upon her the highest level of Paradise.
