After netting five goals in the first half, Kyrgyzstan achieved a 5-0 win over the Maldives while competing at home.

The Maldives came into this match after a 3-0 loss to China in an away game last Thursday night, during which the Maldivian team kept China from scoring in the first half.

Kyrgyz media reports that the team faced significant pressure in last night's match against the Maldives because of a four-game winless stretch at home. They eased that pressure by finding the net against the Maldivian team before the first 15 minutes of the game were over.

The Maldives sought to counter Kyrgyzstan's offensives by sinking into a dense, low-defensive structure and structuring their play to generate chances on the counter. However, the Maldivian strategy fell apart in the 11th minute.

Taking advantage of the open space in the Maldivian defense, Kyrgyzstan's Erbol Atabaev netted to put his team ahead.

Kyrgyzstan applied a fast-paced, aggressive pressing strategy that thoroughly broke down the Maldivian defense. Soon after the initial goal, Kyrgyzstan completely shifted the momentum of the game.

In the 20th minute, capitalizing on a mistake by the Maldivian defense, Sirozhiddin Astanakulov netted Kyrgyzstan's second goal.

The home team had complete control of the match, leaving the Maldivian side with no chance to establish their rhythm.

In the 23rd minute, Atabaev netted his second goal, which meant that three goals had found their way into the Maldivian net before the game hit the 30-minute mark.

In the 32nd minute, the team's fourth goal was scored by Vitalii Murzakov.

Prior to the end of the first half, Joel Kojo netted Kyrgyzstan's fifth goal in the 42nd minute, finishing a half that was wholly controlled by Kyrgyzstan.

The Maldives will compete in another game at home, taking on Lebanon next Thursday. That game will also occur at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, where the previous night’s match took place. Lebanon and Kyrgyzstan are set to compete against one another at the same venue this Saturday.
