The stretch of Boduthakurufaanu Magu between the Tsunami Monument and the Social Centre has been barricaded for traffic due to road repairs, with officials urging the public to clear out all vehicles parked there.
In a social media update, the Maldives Police Service stated that at midnight tonight, traffic diversions and road closures will be implemented in the area to facilitate the ongoing work.
People have been advised to clear all cars parked along the area between the Tsunami Monument and the Social Centre prior to the closure being enforced.
The Police expressed regret for any trouble caused to travelers and the public and thanked them for their cooperation.
The government is progressing with a significant initiative to enhance and renovate Boduthakurufaanu Magu in Malé, with the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) hired to execute the project. The initiative includes expanding the northern section of the road and covering it with asphalt to enhance traffic circulation and accessibility for pedestrians.
