Tiny Hearts of Maldives has effectively concluded its nationwide Heart Healthy Raajje initiative, focusing on encouraging physical activity and healthier living throughout the nation, funded by Bank of Maldives (BML) via its Bank Fund program.

The initiative has launched 10 inclusive workout videos aimed at motivating individuals of various ages, fitness levels, and physical capabilities to remain active. The videos target children, infants, expectant mothers, adults, and seniors, enhancing the accessibility of physical activity for communities across the Maldives.

Created based on the Maldives Physical Activity Guidelines (2022), the program fosters consistent exercise and advocates for healthier daily routines to lower the likelihood of non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular issues.

All 10 videos can be accessed at no cost via a specific Instagram page and the official website of Tiny Hearts of Maldives. Downloadable formats are also available, enabling community organizations and local networks to share the content more broadly, especially within island communities.

The program promotes national initiatives aimed at enhancing public health by motivating individuals to include consistent exercise in their daily activities.

The project received funding from BML’s Bank Fund, an annual grant program that aids registered non-governmental organizations executing community development projects throughout the Maldives.

Under the initiative, the bank chooses five projects annually, granting MVR 200,000 to each entity. This denotes a total yearly funding pledge of MVR 1 million for projects aimed at providing substantial advantages to local communities.

The achievement of Heart Healthy Raajje emphasizes the importance of collaboration between financial entities and civil society groups in enhancing preventive healthcare and boosting community wellness throughout the Maldives.
